Bachelor of Science Psychology

利记sbo

Psychologists examine and consider the nature of the mind and human behavior to understand the complicated interactions underlying perception and personality, emotion and motivation, society and self.

Psychology is the study of behavior and mental processes. Psychology is one of the fastest-growing professions, and Lawrence Tech offers four pathways in this exciting field: clinical psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, applied and general psychology, and pre-med/bio-behavioral psychology.

At 利记sbo, students have the opportunity to pursue one of four concentrations in the field of psychology:

  • Industrial/Organizational Psychology prepares students to be highly specialized problem-solvers trained to investigate and analyze the crucial challenges facing people in the modern workplace.
  • Clinical Psychology trains future clinicians, counselors, and anyone who wishes to apply their knowledge and expertise to the care of the emotional well-being of individuals. For example, they may diagnose mental illness, design and support the implementation of treatment plans, conduct psychotherapy, or utilize techniques aimed at recognizing and remediating maladaptive behaviors.
  • Pre-Med/Biobehavioral Psychology studies the fundamental neural mechanisms and brain functions that form the basis of the concepts of mind, consciousness, and behavior. These students examine the complicated relationships that exist between the brain and the body. This track prepares students who will go on to seek advanced degrees in healthcare, including psychiatry.
  • Applied Psychology allows students to answer questions about human behavior and become involved in strategic problem-solving when it comes to clinical research, counseling, advertising, community planning, law, and more!
